Feeling behind with never enough time? Read this!

Are your days a blur and life bulging at the seams? I get it!

As a recovering “busy addict”, I know all about the B word. Busy allowed me to not have boundaries, to live swirling in my head with permission to run faster on my treadmill, even when my knees were buckling.

We are all in the same boat… or are we?

Have you ever met someone who seems to sail through their list of things to do and appear to have all the time in the world? Well, we know they don’t have more time and my guess is that their list is just as long.

So, what gives? The biggest difference is their relationship to time, followed closely by their non-negotiable priorities staying at the top of their list.

How you relate to time is the driving force behind how you experience it and what is reflected back to you. If you are constantly declaring how busy you are then you will always feel busy and behind!

And it won’t matter how many check boxes you tick, if you don’t take care of your true priorities, you will feel frustrated and disheartened with no time left to do that thing called living!

Tired of being busy all the time and ready to do something different? Try these three things:

Change Your Story – Stop validating your life by telling yourself and others how crazy busy you are. As simple as this may sound, your language and emotional attachment to this time scarcity epidemic will be reflected back everywhere in your life. Just listen to the words you use when talking to your friends or rushing your kids out the door.

Flip Your To Do List Upside Down – When you identify your true priorities and commit to them then fail to follow through, over and over again, you deeply erode the trust you have in yourself. This wreaks havoc on your self confidence and your belief in your own power to achieve what you set out to do. It makes those bigger dreams seem totally impossible. Carving out the time to do what’s most important to you and sticking to it, is critical to building trust and empowering yourself. Make a very short list of NON-NEGOTIABLE priorities and put them at the top.

Stop Over Committing – There is simply nothing you can do to create more hours in the day. If you have too much on your plate then it’s time to un-commit, shift your expectations, let go and say no!

Five truths to keep in mind:

Your soul needs time to do its work so make space for it!
You can do it all – you just can’t do it all at the same time!
Almost everything takes longer than you think it’s going to!
If it’s in your life – you said YES to it!
“NO THANK YOU” is a complete sentence!
